What to do with leftover Milkfish?

Leftover fried milkfish, how to recycle and make it susyal food?

jaran!!! ~~

Tomato and milkfish spaghetti

You can't go wrong with pasta, you can toss or top anything edible you can think of. Tuyo or dried fish that usually pang-masa na ulam  just top it on spaghetti and the simple Tuyo will turn to a delectable and expensive dish. And that's what i did. Easy to prepare and pocket friendly meal. Oh ha! saan ka pa?
Cook spaghetti until aldente.Heat the pan, pour EVOO.Saute garlic and chopped tomatoes. Add the shredded fish then toss the cooked pasta. Season with salt and pepper. You may add water that you used to cook the pasta to prevent it from sticking. Better use fresh ground pepper, cayenne or Spanish paprika to add extra spice.

Unica Hija's 7th Birthday

I've been planning her birthday since November 2012. The first plan was an out of the country trip then changed to Cebu trip until I stopped planning because of her Dad's working condition. Came her birthday month, that's when i finally decided to throw a birthday party and start looking for a venue. Our friends, relatives and guests are mostly coming from South area and Quezon City.To meet half way Makati is a perfect venue. Of course, budget is the first thing to consider in throwing a party. Para swak sa budget and less stress talking to different suppliers with only 1 week preparations before our set date we opted to held the party at Shakey's Makati Cinema Square. Thank goodness! they have open slot for 3:30-5:30pm.

Our meals include: 5 MMD (P2,200/set good for 10-12 pax) + 7 servings of Chef Salad + 25pcs. of Package B (P180) for kids and a 32" Giant Pizza as a token. You can get a free giant pizza if your food total amount reached P16K and above.

Shakey's giant pizza
For the celebrant's cake : Red Ribbon (P2,700) moist chocolate cake. The "happy birthday" candles are not include.

 Giveaways for adult guest.

Iko's Cupcake (P37.00)

I did not avail the party amenities of Shakey's because Rock Star Princess ang peg namin :-) below are the game prizes i bought from Divi Mall as well as items inside the loot bag.

Loot bag
DIY Candy Buffet - assorted chocolates & candies in paper cup.

For Balloon decors and Party host, I hired Leny's Party Needs.

balloon ceiling photo DSC02687_zps23ba726a.jpg
50pcs balloons ceiling cost P1,500 while the guitar shaped balloon fr Divi P150 for 20pcs.
I wasn't satisfied about their balloon decor, tipong walang effort :-( I told them to hang the guitar shaped balloons that we brought along to incorporate with the party theme. The party was about to start 15-20 minutes when they arrived at the venue. With the help of my husband and cousin's family natapos kaagad before the other guests came in.

The staff of Shakey's initiated the program and facilitated 2-3 games before giving the floor to Leny's Magician/Host. Their hosting stints and games were entertaining pero syempre di mawawala ang "the longest happy birthday game" ;-) kahit simple magic tricks lang bumenta naman sa mga bata & kids at heart. For the price of P2,750 sulit na.

Overall, it was a success!! Given a limited time and budget we managed to pull off a party. After 11 years na ulit (debut) !! he he he.

Packaging

Double Chocolate Caramel & Double Chocolate Mocha

The newest product from Krispy Kreme, comes in 6 delectable flavors to choose from - Chocolate chocolate Kreme, Chocolate chocolate Mocha, Chocolate chocolate Caramel, Vanilla Strawberry Kreme, Vanilla White Chocolate Mocha and Vanila Chocolate Caramel .The color palette of packaging reminds me of Ferrero Rocher. Damage cost 3pcs for P150.00. I bought all the double chocolate flavors and even i put them inside the ref before indulging the calories, the sponge is still soft and moist.

While waiting for my daughter, i had carrot pecan muffin and my 2nd cup of coffee after 2 hours. hindi naman halatang adik ako sa kape noh!teehee

Carrot Pecan muffin (P65.00) & Iced Mocha Latte (P95.00)

A little food trip

For some people my food trip was just an appetizer but what I had experienced last night (bloated & stomach ache) baka matagalan pa ulit before my next food trip :-D

First stop: RAMEN X

Restaurant's interior

Noodles are for long life. I wanted to try Ramen for a change instead of pasta to celebrate my big day.

X Ramen (P189.00)
The noodles are thin and not soggy, cooked to its perfection. The soup is tasty plus the serving size is meant for sharing. Oh i like the veggies! buti hindi tinipid.
We also had Karaage P59.00 (crispy chicken fillet) it's crispy but i find it salty and a bit over cooked.

Second stop: Le Petit Cheri in Molito

I always go to Molito because my unica hija is attending Kumon there and it's just one tumbling away  from our house :) but only within the premises of Puregold building. I was surprised how Molito is being developed into Food/Restaurant haven of the south.Though i might be soon leaving this area. sob.

Picture taken from the 2nd floor
 for those who love books!
After our ramen meal, went to LPC for dessert ~

Creme Caramel Latte (P125) and Mousse Au Chocolat (P115)

Banana Caramel Crepe (P245)

Sweetness!! yun lang!I finished all of 'em, my unica hija's small tummy can't take all the sugar. Kaya empacho ang inabot ko.hahaha. Next time i have to digest the food properly para iwas dyspepsia.

Post Valentine's Date

with my daughter ;-)
It's been 9 months already when i became a LDR (Long Distance Relationship) wifey. Thus, my constant date is my one and only ~ hija.
I was craving for red velvet cupcakes yesterday and i can't find at nearby stores/cafes. This afternoon, we went to Southmall to look for red velvet cupcakes of Sophie's Mom after searching online. It was newly opened store here in south area.

Red Velvet cupcake with cream cheese
While paying for the cupcakes my daughter told me that she wants to eat in Starbucks (medyo na-shock ang nanay! anak, you should be drinking milk not coffee!!) But I knew why, so i brought her inside the cafe to look for breads. Alas! nandun ang French Bread sabay turo at sabing "that's what i want to eat mom-- French Bread!"..Nagdalawang isip ang nanay because i include coffee & milk tea in my fasting aside from red meat. Going inside Starbucks is a test of temptation for me, buti na lang i refused to give in ;-P I have to convince unica hija not buy it (bad mom! hahaha) i told her i'll make french bread sa house na lang, my version which is her usual breakfast --toasted garlic bread. Pumayag naman.hehehe!

After ng mahaba-habang ikot sa mall we ended up at Mary Grace Cafe.

Lemon Square
I ordered Lemon square (P17/pc)for myself because for sure i'll be the one to finish the remaining food of my unica hija. I like its contrasting taste of sourness from lemon filling and a bit of sweetness from the crust. Weirdo kasi palate ko, if i ate too much sweets i like to eat something salty basta kailangan contrast ang lasa. And lemon square is meant for me :) pantanggal umay for cream based pasta (below).
Mary Grace Mushroom Cream Pasta

We both loved pasta with white/cream sauce (kahit  may umay factor) it is always on our list. Lenten season kicked off last Wednesday, mushroom cream (P266) is a good alternative to seafood or aglio olio pasta. You can really taste the mushroom flavor from the sauce.
Strawberry Milkshake

As for my craving for red velvet cupcake, my first time to eat (not the cupcakes) this particular flavor topped with cream cheese. The frosting is not too sweet and the sponge is light with a little surprise of choco bits :-) Though i find the cream cheese heavy for me, maybe i'm not a fan of cream cheese. Next visit ... i wanna try their cookies especially the oreo cheesecake (P55).

Year of Water Ssssnake--Happy Chinese New Year!

I don't have  Chinese blood, but i believe in Feng Shui kaya naman ang lola moh naghanda to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

On the eve of Water ssssnake, we've got :-

Fish, tikoy, pansit and hopia

Sliced tikoy wrapped in lumpia wrapper looks like turon.:-) my daughter prefers to eat the wrapped tikoy after chilling it inside the ref.

wrapped tikoy

pan-grilled cream dory with tartar sauce

We don't have the 5 lucky fruits though.

This year of snake, I wish everyone good health (mind, body and spirit), courage, strength and  blessings from God.
Always remember it is in our own hands, good deeds, perseverance and a LOT of hard work to succeed .Kahit pa minsan o madalas eh sablay/waley!! what is important we tried and stood up to fight again.
sabi nga sa commercial: GOW lang ng GOW!

Chili's Experience

A friend of mine gave a Chili's voucher that entitles the kid for free meal. I've never been there, their Alabang branch was just opened last quarter of 2012. After contemplating whether to use the coupon or not only few hours left for the coupon's validity, I decided to go na! ilang tumbling lang at nasa Town Center na kami.Buti na lang the place is just near our area.

For my daughter, I chose Chicken Crispers and Spaghetti (this is the most expensive kiddie meal kaya yan ang pinili ko) comes with free iced tea drinks. not bad di bah? kiddie meal is worth P250++.

Fish and Fries

I ordered Fish & Chips (P395++) and strawberry shake for me. I was surprised because the serving can be shared for two  with corn as a side dish and tartar sauce. bitin nga lang ang tartar sauce. the chips were shredded fries.

Customer Service rate:
Purhfect! Staffs are accommodating and approachable kahit mukha kaming walang pera HAHAHAHA!
Their Manager approached every table to check the customer's orders and needs. My daughter was busy coloring and answering the activity sheet given to every kids.

Price Rate:
Pocket Friendly. The ++ includes VAT,10%Service Charge and F&B tax, minimal amount so keri na.

Sinong may gusto?!! Chili's gave us 1 free kiddie meal voucher valid till 13th Feb.

Since I have small tummy to fill in, may take-out pa kami!! Every time we dine-out my husband makes sure na "clean plate" before we left the fastfood or restaurants, sya ang taga-ubos namin :). That's one thing I've learned from my hubby.Sometimes kasi I saw sushal people leaving their table with so many left-overs, hello! have you heard the word "take-out".

The pinkish Kwek-kwek

Kwek-kwek is one of the popular Pinoy street foods. It's a deep fried quail egg coated with orange batter.

But mine turned out to be pinkish kwek-kwek instead of the usual orange one. :-D

Today, i made an easy to prepare merienda for me and my daughter--Pork and Beans Tortillas.
