Kung Pao Chicken

While looking for ready mix sauce in the supermarket, my eyes caught the Kim's Kung Pao Chicken Mix with a recipe on the back of the pack. After reading the simple recipe, i bought one pack to try since i'm searching for a new dish to serve on our table.

As written on the package, Kung Pao is a popular way of cooking chicken or shrimp in a rich sauce with hints of Asian spices.

Ingredients:
0.55 lb boneless chicken, cut into cubes
1 packed Kim's Kung Pao chicken mix
1/2 cup of water
cooking oil
1/4 cup roasted,unsalted peanuts
1/4 cup chopped spring onions
1 tbsp ginger strips
leeks cut into 1/2 inch lengt
dried red pepper flakes (optional)

Procedures:
Dissolve 1 packed Kim's Kung Pao Chicken Mix in water. Set aside. In a wok or skillet, heat oil and stir fry chicken until well-browned. Add peanuts and stir fry. Add ginger & leeks. Pour in the dissolved Kung Pao Chicken mix, cover and simmer for a minute or until sauce thickens. Lastly, add the spring onions and dried chili flakes. Serve immediately.

You can taste the spices on the sauce plus the red pepper flakes gave more intense flavor & kick.
