Beef Caldereta

Thanks to Del Monte Quick n Easy, made my cooking fuss free. You can get the recipe at the back of the pouch. There are times na i don't know what to cook and this is one of those times. :)

Ingredients:
1/2kg beef brisket,cut into chunks (pre-boiled)
1 pouch DelMonte Quick n Easy Caldereta sauce
1 pc medium size potato, cut into chunks
4 tsp liver spread
2 T grated cheese
1 pc bell pepper, cut into strips
1/2 c frozen green peas/cooked
2-1/4 c beef broth or water

Procedures:
Pan fry potatoes in oil. Set aside.
In the same pan, add 1 T oil then stir-fry liver spread and beef until both sides of meat are brown. Add 2- 1/4 cups of broth ( hubby prefers more liquid ). Cover and simmer until the meat is tender. Add DelMonte Sauce, grated cheese. Simmer for 5 minutes, then add bell pepper and green peas.

I omitted siling labuyo though. Serving : good for 3-4 pax.

Grilled Tanigue with mixed vegetables
Just a few days left before holy week, here is a dish good for this lenten season. At first i don't have any intention to blog the grilled Tanigue but when i plate it ...hmmm.. i think it deserves to get its photo. Another simple and easy recipe.

1/2 kilo of Tanigue steak
butter, melted
olive oil
rock salt
fresh ground peppercorns

Side dish:
butter
carrots, chopped
frozen green peas

Season Tanigue with salt, pepper and olive oil. Grill seasoned Tanigue for about 7-8 minutes on each side while occasionally brushing with melted butter. The butter will not only prevent the fish from drying but it also adds flavor & texture.

For the mixed vegetable, just heat the butter in a pan. Add the carrots and cook over medium heat follow with the green peas. A dash of salt & pepper to taste.

Bon appetit
