Here it goes our Bora adventures last April 23,2005.
DAY 1
6:00 A.M. – Woke-up, I prepared ham & cheese sandwich for our baon. I’ve waited my monthly period since Tuesday then my first day period came. What a good timing! Just in time for our 3 days bora trip :-(. But I didn’t allow my spirit to dampen. Seeing boracay again and going there in a sort of island hopping way (similar to RORO) was enough for me to get excited. Plus an added bonus that I’m traveling with my hubby who was a first timer in Bora. Armed with just a piece of paper where I listed down the departure and arrival schedule of ferry and bus that will bring us to the island paradise of Panay, Malay, Aklan, our journey begins.
6:45 A.M. – We arrived at the N.Dela Rosa bus station. The fare costs P112.00 from Alabang to Batangas Pier.
7:00 A.M. – Left Alabang.
10:05 A.M. – Reached Batangas Pier, this whole trip is a new experience for me but it doesn’t lessen my excitement. I bought our ticket at Supercat that scheduled to depart at 12:15 pm, we didn’t able to catch the
10:15 am, no seats were available na. My husband Andrew and I almost had an argument over what ferry to take because there was a Starlight ferry that will leave at 10:30 am & still accepting passengers however the travel time will consume 2 hrs to reach Calapan while in Supercat you’ll be in Calapan in just 45 minutes albeit we have to wait till 11:30 am before we can have our seat number.
12:20 P.M. – Supercat departed.
1:15 P.M. – We reached Calapan, we took the van bound for Roxas, Mindoro which is another 2-3 hours ride from Calapan, P160 for fare. The van driver dropped passengers in front of their houses so I thought we couldn’t make the 5:00 pm schedule of Maharlika ship that will bring us to our final destination Caticlan. A very exhausting rides due to humid weather and we were uncomfortably squeezed seating at the back of the van.
4:05 P.M. - Luckily, we made it & reached Roxas . I immediately bought our ticket which cost P210 + P10 for terminal fee. Without eating a decent meal we headed quickly to the ship. The ship has a non-aircon and aircon area we opted the latter one. We had our dinner - adobo and rice for a price of P100.00 served inside the ship.
10:15 P.M. – At last we finally arrived in Caticlan after 5 hours of sailing. There are still “bangkeros” waiting for passengers going to Boracay during that hour. We had already decided to stay first in my Grandma’s house and go to Boracay next morning kasi sayang lang yung one night accommodation if we go straight to Bora besides we didn’t have our hotel reservation. We’ll just look for accommodation tomorrow morning.
Day 2 to be continued tomorrow.
That’s it for now.
Signing off.
